Tuesday 6pm to 7.15pm - Vinyasa Yoga
With Amy Bray
Amy is a climate campaigner and founder of environment education charity Another Way. Through her work, she experienced burnout and mental health issues are rife throughout activism. She turned to yoga to connect with nature and with her body as a way of building resilience and joy.
Amy completed her 200 hour yoga teacher training with Spanda Institute in Portugal, which specialises in blending the best of modern anatomy and biomechanics with eastern traditional yoga philosophy and practice. She trained in dynamic vinyasa, elemental vinyasas, beginner flow and restorative yoga, as well as incorporating elements of mantra, mudra, pranayama and drawing from Buddhist meditation practices.
She is passionate about helping people to find presence and insight into the interbeing of our bodies, minds and the earth. She wants to help empower people to move in a way that brings joy and mindfulness, and is particularly interested in how yoga can help people with chronic illness take back autonomy of their bodies, as a sufferer of autoimmune disease herself.
Starting 11th March - Tuesday 11.00 to 12.00 - Iyengar Yoga

Alongside her yoga teaching, kate works as a personal trainer, fitness instructor, sports remedial massage therapist and Mountain Leader.

Friday 10am to 12 mid day - Slow Flow Yoga with the Alexander Technique
With Alison Marsden
As well as her Friday Classes Alison also offers private sessions and programmes.
These range from 2 to 5 months long and help accelerate attendees' progress so they can live a life of freedom and choice, pain free again.
Alison trained with the Society of Teachers of the Alexander Technique in Kendal, Cumbria and has been teaching since 2001. She has also trained as a Reflexologists with the Association of Reflexologists, Yoga Teacher with the Yoga Alliance Professionals, and specialises in Pregnancy and Childbirth qualifying as a Doula and in Eutokia. Before her training she worked in the computer industry and initially came across the Alexander Technique through back pain.
She has always had a love of movement and wanted to be a dancer as a child but suffered from digestive pain and was unable to pursue this dream. In her early twenties she suffered from back pain and in her journey to getting better came across the Alexander Technique. Since her mid twenties she has applied her Alexander Technique and Yoga knowledge to improving her quality of movement and running style. She now teaches people how to regain the joy of movement without the need of pain killers.
She also has a love for cycling, gardening, and cooking. Through her natural love of cooking she runs cookery demonstrations and developed a routine to help maintain her digestive health which she now teaches on her Re-balancing Your Diet Courses along with the concept of Life Style Nutrition.
With her family of two boys she has developed an interest with teaching the Alexander Technique to children both in and out of school. This type of work really inspires Alison to create fun ways of learning both for adults and children, helping people learn in an easy way, feeding their confidence and spirit.https://www.integratinghealth.com/slow-flow-yoga-at-penrith

Lucy Mote
Hello! I'm Lucy (she/her), a qualified yoga teacher offering in-person, inclusive classes. I've been practicing yoga for 10 years and have completed the following qualifications:
- "Resilience-building, Inclusion & Accessibility in Yoga & Mindfulness" with New Leaf Foundation in Toronto (Canada) - 15hrs
- Yoga Teacher Training (Hatha & Flow) at Union Yoga + Wellness in Toronto (Canada) - 225hrs
My practice is grounded in acknowledging spaciousness in body and breath. This is a constant work in progress and I'm delighted to share it with you! I believe that yoga is for every body and I love including variety in my practices.
My "off the mat" yoga includes being a trained Mental Health First Aider and an active member of Anti-Racist Cumbria.
I enjoy swimming, running, hiking, beekeeping, vintage/second-hand gems and hanging out with my cat.
I love the space at Soulands Studio; the view, the ambiance of the wood, warmth and natural light. I am more than happy to host classes here or come to you.
Please feel free to get in touch via email at lucy.mote@gmail.com if you'd like to discuss how I can support your yoga practice. I'm down for 1:1s, groups, one-offs, regular sessions or anything else you might be keen to do!
